Corey Booker may have lost the vote by narrow margin, but his efforts along with that of Patrick symbolized the challenge that the younger generation were posing to the older generation across urban America. Patrick is proud to be known as a hip hop mayor, a t itle for a young generation mayor, supportive of hip hop politics. However, as a mayor Patrick has striven to demonstrate responsibility to the electorate, by concentrating on the problems of the children and citizens of Detroit.
